Of course, like most Liberals, Obama is incredibly inconsistent. First, let me share my perspective: Is burning the Koran offensive? Unequivocally, yes. It is a sacred text, and as with all sacred texts, the followers of Islam believe it represents the divine word of God. Should the Florida pastor burn the Koran? No, but the government should not intervene. Burning a Koran is not illegal, and to stop him would require the suspension of his Constitutional rights. This is the Conservative argument, and it's the same argument I have made against the proposed "Islamic Center." The Construction of that mosque is offensive, but the government should not intervene. Building the Ground Zero mosque is not illegal, and to stop the builders would require the suspension of property rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
