Jason Levin: Hatemonger
I'm still waiting for Jason Levin to be condemned by the CBC or Rep. John Lewis for propagating hate speech. We've heard a lot from Democrats lately about the dangers of rhetoric. We've been warned about those who might incite violence. On the racial front, the media hasn't bothered to check any claims, and has assailed the Tea Party over fictitious accusations. The blatant, intentional slander might be a little less painful if they at least retained some shred of consistency.
Jason Levin is the founder of CrashTheTeaParty.org. At first, this site seems like a complete and total joke. The web design is amateur at best, and who creates a public website to advertise an attempt to infiltrate one of the largest "groups" in the nation. Oh yeah, and given all the above, what moron doesn't even bother to pay the extra $8-10 for private registration?
Of course, Jason's website not a joke. Jason Levin actually wants his followers to sneak into Tea Parties and propagate hate on their behalf. Put simply, because MSNBC hasn't been able to find any racism at the Tea Parties, Jason is going to create it for them. But wouldn't this effort be thoroughly unnecessary if the Tea Parties were actually full of "racists, homophobes, and morons" as his website claims.
Given that Jason is actually promoting hate speech—i.e. we're not merely relying on rumors and half truths—I'm wondering when Keith will have a "Special Comment" for him full of impressive, questionably TV-approved adjectives. He described Senator Scott Brown as "an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, tea-bagging supporter of violence against women and against politicians with whom he disagrees" ... twice. Could a similar litany against Jason Levin be in order? Somehow, I doubt it.
Even if they aren't going to acknowledge the implications and give up on the "Tea Partiers are racist" mantra, shouldn't the Left at least condemn Levin for giving Tea Parties an out? Now—even though most media outlets won't report it this way—all apparent racism at any Tea Party ought to be attributed to Jason Levin. The cat's out of the bag. We've heard and seen reports of union-plants, but Jason Levin is a bona fide ignoramus who has publicly documented his vile intentions. I mean, this might be the least thought out sinister plot in the history of sinister plots.
On the other hand, we can take heart knowing how absolutely petrified the Left is of the real "Mainstream America." As numerous surveys have shown, except in terms of political affiliation the Tea Party is a mirror image of the United States as a whole. Sure, it's mostly white. The United States is mostly white. I'm more concerned that we have citizens like Jason who would attempt to malign a group simply because they disagree with its members. This desperate action can mean only two things. First, the Left has no boundaries. Second, they're out of ideas. On the bright side, it's only 200 days until the midterm elections.
