Friday Flashback: Hank Johnson Worries Guam May Capsize

Democrat Hank Johnson is the US Representative for Georgia's 4th Congressional District. During a House Armed Services Committee Meeting in March 2010, Johnson worried the island of Guam might "tip over and capsize" if additional marines were stationed there. Just over seven months later, Hank Johnson was reelected with nearly 75% of the vote in his district.

The Silver Lining

There's not much of one. As I said, Hank Johnson was reelected with nearly 75% of the vote in his district. But, he did later release a statement claiming he was joking in the above video. At least someone on his staff realized how absurd his comment was.
