According to an email from the campaign arm of the White House, Charlotte has been selected to host the 2012 Democratic National Convention which has been dubbed "The Peoples Convention," a catchy misnomer. In other words, barring a Hillary coupe d'etat, Charlotte will be the place where the Democrat Party re-announces Obama as its frontrunner. Frankly, I'm not surprised. Charlotte was a wise choice given that it's probably the most liberal city in North Carolina, a state which the President won in 2008 by a margin of less than 1%.
